1.What is masterbatch?
Color masterbatch, also known as color masterbatch, is a new type of special coloring agent for polymer materials, also known as pigment preparation.
It consists of pigment or dye, carrier and additives. It is an aggregate obtained by uniformly loading a very large amount of pigment or dye into a resin, which can be called a pigment concentration, and thus its coloring ability is higher than that of the pigment itself.
In short, a masterbatch is an aggregate made by loading a very large amount of pigment or dye uniformly into a resin.
2. What are the basic components of color masterbatches?
The basic components of color are:
1. Pigment or dye
Pigments are divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments.
Commonly used organic pigments are: phthalocyanine red, phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, fast red, polymer red, polymer yellow, permanent yellow, permanent violet, azo red and so on.
Commonly used inorganic pigments are: cadmium red, cadmium yellow, titanium dioxide, carbon black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow and so on.
2.Carrier
It is the substrate of carrier masterbatch. Special color masterbatches generally use the same resin as the product resin as the carrier, the compatibility between the two is the best, but at the same time, the fluidity of the carrier should also be considered.
3.Dispersing agent
Promote the pigment to be evenly dispersed and no more lumps. The melting point of dispersant should be lower than that of resin, have good compatibility with resin and have affinity with pigment. The most commonly used dispersants are polyethylene low molecular wax and stearate.
4.Additives
Such as flame retardant, brightening, antibacterial, antistatic, antioxidant and so on. Unless requested by customers, generally, the color masterbatches do not contain the above additives.
